Our Method

Are we a good fit for you and your dog?

We are balanced dog trainers. That means that we use a combination of rewards and consequences to train dogs. We firmly believe that in order to have a healthy relationship and clear communication with your dog you must use "yes" and "no". Much like raising children.

Please familiarize yourself with the tools we use. If you have any questions or concerns we'd be happy to answer them!

Slip Lead:

This is one of our favorite tools. With a combined collar and leash, it makes for a very simple tool that can also give proper corrections.  If your dog goes through one of our board and trains he or she will be sent home with either this tool or a prong collar so you can keep practicing!

Prong Collar:

Looks medieval? I know! BUT, it's actually one of the safest collars you can possibly use. Why? Because when your dog pulls, the pressure is distributed evenly around the neck versus any other collar which puts all the pressure straight on the dog's trachea. This collar mimics a correction that dogs understand "a bite". This tool can be used in a gentle way to communicate with your dog and before you know it, your dog will be walking with NO tension on the leash!  If your dog goes through one of our board and trains he or she will be sent home with either this tool or a slip lead so you can keep practicing!

E-Collar:

Easily the most misunderstood, underrated tool out there. This tool saves lives and can be used for an endless amount of things. Some of the things we use them for: off-leash freedoms, lessening separation anxiety, teaching dogs how to relax, stopping unwanted behaviors and SO much more.  If your dog goes through one of our board and trains he or she will be sent home with this tool so you can keep practicing!

Basket Muzzle:

For safety reasons, we will train your dog to a muzzle if he or she has ever bitten, has intentions of biting, or shows any other concerning signs. This goes for human and/or dog social issues. This muzzle allows your dog to pant, drink water, and eat treats without trouble.

Relationship Based Training:

We understand that these tools can look intimidating. Our main goal is to make your dog feel as comfortable as possible during their time here.

We focus on relationship building by bonding with your dog through affection, treats, and proper outlets for exercise and play. With that being said, these tools help us clearly communicate to your dog to get the best results possible.

Happy Dogs:
